Buildpic: Although the unit have a rather good angle, I feel that something is missing. Could it maybe be the black and white color scheme that is used on the unit itself? I dunno. Perhaps you shoult have rotated the launchers towards the camera or just more to the right to give a feeling of action [3.5]. The background isn\'t any of my favourites, being too repetive and with no sign of activity [1]. The merging is very good, if you bypass the background, that is. There are shadows on the boat that even color down on the water surface beneath and I certainly like that. The backdraw is that this ship does in no way fit with it\'s background. My eyes can\'t really grip the water-ship angle, expecting to see a hint of a horison nearby, but alas, the water behind the ship seem to rise up like a wall to compensate for the way the boat is lying there. My advice to you is to completely scrap this background and take one with a small island or a boat in the far away [1].
Buildpic: 5.5
Model: Yes, it is close, but no... it does not manage to fit into my schematics with a handful faces (about 8). It seems to me, however that this ship have about as many faces/size as it's closest friend, the OTA Destroyer, so I will go and look over my limitations to make sure you fit in. Now, the model itself looks very OTA-ish and although I was repelled by the alien BP, I was really impressed by the model of this ship for it's hull screams "CAVEDOG" from a long distance. The hull curving look great and so does those two things in the back (I don't know what to call them). I was afraid that this day would come... I can't detect any useless or forgotten faces in the entire model and alas, I can't give you more than full, sorry [4]. The texturing follows the same scheme, being accurate and cavedoggish. Just beautiful to see in-game... [5]. After looking through the model, I had quite high expectations for the corpse and I was not disappointed. It have been wrecked and textured properly [1].
Model: 10
Script: There is only the aiming script, but it got a little flaw. You see, when firing straight forward or straight backward, this one of the launchers fire through the other. There are wasy of limiting a weapon to fire in certain angles, apply them.
Script: Not counted
Balance: This ship costs 20% less metal (about 230 units) than the Destroyer and got much less armor. It deals twice as much damage as the Destroyer cannon, but have no UW protection, thus having a shorter range. It navigates better than the big bro, having moderately increased speed and almost twice as fast turnrate. I still think that it is just a snap underpowered, so if you want to cut the costs with 50M and a proper ammount of energy, I wouldn't stop you.
Balance: 9.5
My score: It looks sooo good, it acts so cool. It is (almost) perfectly balanced and it got a scrappy buildpic. Do I really need more? Call me what you want, but I'd never expect this kind of quality work from WP, so I was impressed, almost shocked even. The only thing holding you back now is as you might have noticed the buildpic. Change it and you get by the D-Fens... And by the way, could you please make a Core counterpart too : D
